Robert “Bob” Marshall CAP, President – is a Senior Administrative Assistant with UnitedHealth Group. Bob joined UnitedHealth Group in 1999 and began working for the VP of IT Strategy. He has worked for several different Vice Presidents over the past eleven years. Currently Bob works in the IT Applications Services Group within UnitedHealth Group. Prior to UnitedHealth Group, Bob worked for Southern New England Telephone Company (SNET) where he started his career in April of 1990 as a telephone operator and worked his way up the ladder from operator to general office clerk and then Executive Assistant to the President of SNET Cellular. Bob moved to the IT area where he worked on a large project until SBC, now AT&T, bought SNET and Bob took an “early retirement” and moved onto UnitedHealth Group.
Bob has been a member of the CT River Valley Chapter since April of 2003. He served briefly as Vice President of the chapter before assuming the office of President for the unexpired term and served two additional terms. Bob was elected to the Greater New England Division board in 2006 as Treasurer. In 2007, he was elected Division Vice President and re-elected in 2008. In October 2008 he assumed the office of President for the unexpired term and was re-elected for the 2009/2010 year.
Bob received his CAP rating in the Spring of 2008 and is a Notary Public with the state of CT. Bob has attended Division Conferences every year since 2005 and has attended four International Conferences for IAAP in Washington, DC, Denver, Tampa, New Orleans and Minneapolis.

Sharon K. McPherson CAP

Sharon is Administrative Associate for Finance, Grants and Data Systems for the Barnstable Public Schools. From 1994-6/30/09 she held the position of Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools and Secretary to the School Committee. She began working for the school district in 1989 as the Secretary to the Business Manager.
Sharon has been a member of IAAP since 2002 and served as the Cape Cod Chapter Treasurer in 2003-2004, Vice President in 2004-2005 and President in 2005-2006 and 2006-2007. She received IAAP’s Distinguished Chapter President Award for 2005-2006 and 2006-2007. She served as the Treasurer of the Greater New England Division in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 and President-Elect in 2009-2010. Sharon earned the CAP rating in May 2005 and recertified in November 2007. She established a test center in Hyannis in November 2005 and serves as the exam proctor.
Sharon serves as a member of the Advisory Board for the Computer Office Technology Department and the Superintendent’s Advisory Board at Old Colony Regional Vocational/Technical High School in Rochester, MA and is also an active member of the CPS/CAP Associates of New England and the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP).
On a personal note, Sharon is a life-long resident of Massachusetts and, in addition to her IAAP participation, she enjoys traveling, knitting, spending time with her family and is a devoted Red Sox fan.
Liana is a life long Mainer. She grew up in the same town and on the same property that she and her husband Mike now own a home. Liana graduated from high school in 1971, then from Auburn Maine School of Commerce in 1973 with a secretarial degree. She went to work for the Auburn Water District, then move to the L-A Water Pollution Control Authority where she worked till the birth of her daughter in 1977. She help start and was co-owner of a Tool & Die Business in Lewiston till 1989. Between 1989 and 1992 she held a variety of office positions in the Real-estate field. In 1992 she went to work for LLBean, Inc. as a call representative for 1 year then moved to different departments before starting her career in the IS Department in 1995. She is currently the Administrative Assistant III to the two Directors of the IT department, where she also supports 6 managers and their teams, a total of 64 people. Along with the administrative duties Liana also manages small projects within the IS Department. Her current project is working with the building redesign team, creating a modern work space for the IS Department of 300 employees.
She joined IAAP in 1995, gained her CPS rating in 1998. In 1996 she was asked to finish the term of treasurer and stayed treasurer till June of 2004. Liana was honored as Admin of the Year in 2001. She held the role of President for 3 years and now is the Board Director and Membership Chair. In 2006 she took on the role of co-project lead for the GNED 08 Freeport Maine Spring Conference. She has traveled to all the District and Division conferences many workshops and two International conferences. Liana feels that it is very important to have an active membership in IAAP to help stay current within your chosen field.

Lea Peterson CAP

Lea is the Supervisory Administrative Assistant at the Barnstable Intermediate School, which has over 800 students and 100 staff members. She started working for Barnstable Public Schools in 1987 as a school assistant. Prior to that, she also worked as an Inventory Management Specialist with General Services Administration (the housekeeping agency for the Federal government) both in Washington, DC and in Boston, MA.
Lea joined the IAAP as a member of the Cape Cod Chapter in 2004. She has served that chapter as Membership Chair, Program Co-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Co-Vice President. She received the CAP rating in November 2006. She has attended numerous IAAP workshops, several GNED Conferences and one International Convention.
In addition to IAAP, Lea is also Secretary for the Barnstable Teachers Association, and as such, has served on its Executive Committee since 2004.
Wendy Beauchene has been an employee of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation for the past 15 years, serving the Tribe in various capacities in its Gaming Enterprise (Foxwoods) and Tribal Government. She currently holds the political appointment of Administrative Assistant III to Tribal Councilor James T. Jackson.
Wendy joined IAAP® in 2007 and, shortly thereafter, attended the Professional Education Conference held in Charleston, SC (March 2008). She has been extremely passionate about IAAP ever since. She received her CAP® designation in November 2008 and served as Treasurer of the Southeastern CT Shoreline Chapter for 2008-2009.
Wendy is a graduate of Fairfield University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, with a minor in Philosophy. She actively pursues (as often as she is able) personal and professional development opportunities and is a certified Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT) Administrator.
